Here we go, the first themed render contest of the year.

First off, the rules:

1) New 3D art-work, please, and wait until approved before posting elsewhere.
2) In the description please mention/point to this contest and group (#DAZCreativeContests).
3) Images to conform to deviantART's TOS, as well as this groups.
4) Image to conform to the theme of the contest.
5) You can use, almost, any software you like, so long as one of the 'usual suspects' is used as a major part of the creation process; DAZ Studio, Poser, Bryce, Carrara.
6) The render engine can be anything you like: 3Delight, Firefly, LuxRender, Octane, etc.
7) Post-work is ok, but try not to get 'extreme' with it, we are not looking for skills with Photoshop, GIMP, etc.

The judging will be done by the admin of the group, all decisions will be final.
Images to be submitted to the correct Gallery (which will be created very shortly and named "Fairytales Revisited").
For now you will be able to submit as many images as you wish, but only one prize per person.
The contest 'proper' will start when the Gallery opens (probably beginning of March) and will end when the Gallery is closed for submission (which will be on or after midnight UK time on the 30th April/1st May) so will open for submissions for around two months.

That's the boring bit over, now the good bit:

The theme of the contest, as mentioned in previous journal is ...

"Fairy tales re-told"

Tell us an old fairy tale in a new way, maybe update it to bring Hansel and Gretel into the 21st century, The Big Bad Wolf texting the local council about retracting planning permission for the housing for pigs ... or, maybe something like the image WiL-One-Is wil-one-is.deviantart.com/ recently uploaded: fav.me/d5w6bhp (which, sadly, due to rules #1 and #2 above would not be valid for this contest).

We will try and be flexible over the definiton of fairy tale, and will stretch it to encompass 'urban myths' (such as Bigfoot, etc.).  So, get your mythic rendering caps on and get busy!!!

And now the really good bit:
The Prizes

MEC4D, the lovely Cath, is offering any one of her products (available from her site www.mec4d.com/store/) - her latest products fall very much within the purview of the contests theme, and this will be the first prize.

Next, the delightful and bubbly Ann is offering one of the products from the ARTCollaboration line (available from DAZ www.daz3d.com/artcollaboration…).

Next the wonderful Bea and Syyd from Runtime DNA have graciously offered two prizes (neither of which can be a bundle or AerySoul item), the first being an item to the value of $15, the next being an item to the value of $10.

Last, but by no means least, our very own Rori2 rori2.deviantart.com/ has offered her (no longer available product) RA Elegant Kids fav.me/d5tt31l  which is an add-on for the DAZ Hansel and Gretel set.

So, we have five prizes up for grabs!  A huge thank you to all those who have donated these.

Couldn't the rules be more clearly stated as to what is and isn't allowed?
" maybe something like the image WiL-One-Is [link] recently uploaded: [link] (which, sadly, due to rules #1 and #2 above would not be valid for this contest)" doesn't exactly tell us what rules had been violated.
List form would be better, don't you think??? ;)
